The wonderful Lauren Wiest, whose equal distaste for each contender will prove that anything goes in the ring. Excerpt from chapter 1: Eric was sitting in front of his computer, crying softly. He had attempted to skype his podcast-mate Steven Earl,but to no avail. He was also crying because he had exhausted his "Skype sounds like an STD" joke and knows he will never be able to use it again. It struck him like a ton of bricks,he needed to find Steve to get their beloved podcast 'Long Distance Relationship' back on track. So Eric decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, he would call his old friend, D'artagnan Luna and they would pile into D'art's pickup and travel the country looking for Steven, that lost Port-o-wop. Eric throws a molotov cocktail into his professional future by talking trash about a coworker on the internet. Who cares?!!!! He don't!!! But then things get much more pleasant as Steve find's God at the Booneville Beerfest; or rather a pack of goats that give him one moment of pure peace. They speak of beer, a Christmas Sweater party, and Sacramento nights. And then Eric walks us through a lovely spring day at the Twin PEaks waterfall. Well, suddenly the bitter blood rage has passed into a stream of tranquility. Huh. VIOLENT VIEWINGS! Steve discusses 'Star Trek', Eric hasn't seen it yet. -Article 1: Storytelling Rep. Chambers recounts going to the A's home opener as well as a very sexy bath house, and seeing Mexican Steve away at the hipster meltdown. He also discusses why the Yankees and Red Sox are poxes among men. Eric realizes that Steven turns into the Simpsons' comic book guy when discussing sports (i.e. a total dick). Rep. Anderson talks about the benefits of having children for tax purposes. Kids Vs. Dogs: What gets you more chicks? And an important economic address by Joe the Grocer.
-Article 2: Music Neurosis: Souls At Zero is a great record. 'Outside Lands' tour dies a slow death thanks to Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band. Why Eddie Vedder and Mariah Carey suck for the same reasons. Also, 'Gay Fish'.

Prepare your self dear listeners, for a trip down the minds of the Brothers Chambers. Calling in from flat Chico California, my little brother was the guest host for this episode. At only 22, he is wise and surly beyond his years. Looks like a rapier wit runs in the family as well. A shame I got all the looks though. This one is a bit late (but extra long), I have been sick as a dog. You could probably build a snowman with all the snot I just coughed up in the shower. I did, and I named it Eric. That's right, this is another episode without Eric, seeing as he just got the Internet again up there in Seattle about two days ago. He will be back next week. And the week after that I believe we will have a Nicaraguan woman joining us. Between the Swedes, The Portuguese, the Bohemian, and the upcoming Nicaraguans, this show is becoming a regular deck of the Original Star Trek.

Ep8: 'Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish'

This weeks episode is dedicated to Steve's new iPhone that made recording this weeks episode that much easier (and fun, Steve got to record it in a San Francisco alley), but made listening to this weeks episode a tad bit harder then usual. Skype plus Iphone don't mix. BUT FEAR NOT. He has a plan for the next episode where he will come through clear as a bell - and Eric won't even be part of it! That's right, this is an open call for guest hosts for the next two weeks while Eric makes the move. Like a drunken husband that always promises to lay off the sauce but never does, Steve swears he will get his time traveling audio recording problems fixed. We are joined by a veteran friend and legal eagle Jared Swanson as he brings his unique opinions to the table from the great state of Nevada. So be prepared because this was recorded on Inauguration Night, so emotions are high and spirits are flowing. We make love to the following notions:
-Our new President and some dissenters, Eric's moving to another state so the show will be an even longer distance relationship, Jared's attempts at getting into law school ,Jared and Eric get all sappy , Rodney Carrington hate is brought up AGAIN. Steve drops out of the show for about a half hour while a homeless man desecrates the street in front of his very eyes. We discuss Steve's need to impress no one but himself while he isn't there. And there is a CPS report.
-VOLUPTUOUS VIEWINGS: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (which got a Best Picture nom and Dark Knight didn't... NO JUSTICE!!), Roadhouse, Wall-E (again Jesus we need to watch more movies), 30 Rock and the quotable Jack Dounage, a retroactive Oscar for Mickey Rourke, and the return of Battlestar Galactica; and Eric recites his first Action Poem: 'Tango and Cash'
-TANTALIZING TUNES: David Bowie (and even though Steve drops out this part, he agrees that modern love is a terrible song - but still fucking fantastic. The fact that we even attempt to have a factual Bowie discussion without Steve around is futile at best), Tom Waits, Kanye West and the brutal death of the vocoder and then Jared calls out T-Pain for a fight
-REWARDING READINGS: 'The Dirt', 'Superman and the Bottle City of Kandor' and Steve gives his follow-up to Azzarello's 'The Joker'

Fret not loyal listeners, we are running late but this week WILL see an episode of 'Long Distance Relationship'. As of tonight it is recorded and in the bank! AUDIO PROBLEMS FIXED... well kind of. So rest easy loyal listeners while Steve Earl and Eric meet up over a digital bridge and plunge into the following lake:
-Late Night Break-Ins, Role Playing games and childhood regret, Eric spins depressing yarns of SADolescence, awkward family moments, awkward ex-boyfriend moments, detailed instructions for attending San Francisco's Academy of Science Museum, the awesomness of Mickey Rourke and his debt to Axl Rose, An old friend from Portland, The Right Spot, Sharks VS Seagulls, Record Store Clerk Elitism, Russian Telepathic Dogs, no feedback and an enticing plea for more feedback (i.e. iTunes reviews, write them already, Christ almighty we are begging here. Mickey Rourke would be ashamed) And I swear, Steve will buy a new mic this week and lose his tin can transmission

-Gran Torino, Wrestler aftermath, and one of the worst films ever made (David Bowie's in it and its not fire Walk With me, the prestige, or any of his other GOOD movies)

-The Ramshackle Romeos, Papa M, Shrinebuilder (or two boys getting excited about hearing it), good old Willie Nelson.

-Brubaker and Phillips Incognito. SCALPED (Steve doesn't just wax poetic, he waxes f***ing Illiad) WAR OF KINGS, and Superman/Batman: The Search For Kryptonite (how would a DC universe film director make a Batman film? Kind of like Schumaker would).

Episode 6: The Calvary and the Clown

-This week on there is an all night gab fest on L.D.R. Its a party! So bring your hair curlers and jock jam cds, and don't forget your tube socks cuz Dad's got Skinamax! We have a guest skype in! Thats right this week we're hanging with our oft-referenced Marc Branstad and it seems that Steve is the problem with the audio because the rest of us sound great and he still sounds like he is broadcasting from the bottom of a well. Buy a new microphone Chambers! Sorry about the audio dropout in the last segment folks. But stick around till the end, it is a meaty stew through and through.

-We dish about: - Ratings and car wash challenges, New Years Eve, South Sac Gang Fights, Work and what may be worse then getting laid off (Actually day 2 of the new deal wasn't half bad... part of that had to do with the fact that Mexican Steve finally returned from NY. Holy Crap, we need to get him on here for some NY stories - note to self) The painful never ending VH1 reality cycle, Feedback, Steve's magic ipod hat trick, Memories of a good man, and subtle references to our torrid pasts. Not to mention, the hit segment: 'Eric Gets Another Stain on his CPS Report"

-'The Wrestler' and 'X-Files' Steve gets all weepy at Dinosaurs, Rancid and MANOWAR with a Twist of Rob Halford's sexuality (with the worst end credits ever as a ex Limit Soldier freestyles over a M.P. classic), 'Kavalier and Klay', 'Jonah Hex', and 'Northlanders'

-Good times are had and the conversation stays interesting even when Eric leaves for 10 minutes to play drunken Hot Potato with a baby. Enjoy and if you do (or don't) write an iTunes review. That'd be great!

Episode 5: 'Triumph of the Lethargic'

The adventures of the Two Oaks continue in this weeks episode as Eric rips off the name of a good band's not so good side project as the title of this episode and he really needs to cut down on the clicks of a mouse because the mic pics it up. Christ almighty, you think he would have it figured it out by episode 5 where they attempt to put their post-christmas pieces back together.

I have no idea what happened to the show notes for this one. Eric and I sat in the same room with a bottle of Rebel yell the night before T-giving. Dirty Harry, The New Guns and Roses (which upon further reflection I have decided I enjoy, even though I know I shouldn't), babies, Uptight old Rocklin ladies, Eric's loathing for his job, and much much more are discussed in a fashion that you might be able to almost call a conversation. You know, I think Lennox was in the room for some of it as well, and that just seems wrong. Can CPS build a case off of internet yammering?
